We are very proud that we have been given model status as a Read Write Inc School.
Read Write Inc is a sythetic phonics program which teaches both reading and writing and has now become established in our school as part of our literacy curriculum.
Only two schools in each county are selected for this award. We are frequently observed by our peers delivering this program and we have members of staff who are available to provide information to these visitors. Many of our teaching staff and classroom assistants are involved in this work and children may work on the Read Write Inc program from Reception through to Year 4. We also have the Fresh Start Program that can be used for additional support for children up to Year 6.
